What’s Old is New Again-Edison Lights

Ok, so there’s one of my favorite looks going around. It can be vintage, rustic or industrial depending on the fixture. You see it all over HGTV and in magazines. It’s Edison lights.

Edison lights have become increasingly popular in recent years. We started seeing them in restaurants and coffee shops. Now we see them in our kitchens, dining rooms and even our front porch. The amber glow gives the warmth similar to candlelight and the filament, surrounded by clear glass envelopes, brings out the historic character.

I love the simple look of the clear globes over the kitchen island. It’s unobstructive yet makes a statement.

For the dining room, something a bit more bold. Maybe an iron casing to frame the lights or rustic cage lighting for drama.

There is something for every taste, subtle to bold with Edison lights. And now they have efficient LED bulbs that won’t break the bank yet still give that warm glow of an incandescent bulb. Where would you use your Edison lights?
